IRCC INVITED NEARLY 2,000 CANDIDATES UNDER THE IEC

Between September 2 and September 8, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted new rounds of draws within the International Experience Canada (IEC) pool. During this period, a total of 1,961 young foreign nationals were invited to apply for an IEC open work permit, which offers an exciting opportunity to live and work in Canada for a limited time.

As of September 8, 35,812 candidates remained registered in the IEC pool, awaiting an invitation. The most recent round of draws saw invitations being distributed across various participating countries, with 213 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued to candidates from Australia, 169 to candidates from Chile, 97 to candidates from France, and 494 to candidates from Taiwan, among others.

This round of ITAs continues to demonstrate Canada’s commitment to fostering international cultural exchange and providing young individuals from around the world with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in Canada. So far in 2024, Canada has issued a total of 114,949 ITAs under the IEC program.
