OTTAWA HELD THE THIRD HEALTHCARE-TARGETED EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW OF 2024

On November 20, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its third healthcare-targeted Express Entry draw of the year. A total of 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates with experience in healthcare occupations, emphasizing Canada’s ongoing effort to address critical labor shortages in its healthcare sector.

This latest draw, round #327, had a cut-off score of 463 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is 18 points higher than the previous healthcare-specific draw. The tie-breaking rule was applied to profiles submitted on or before October 21, 2024, at 16:12:39 UTC.

Healthcare remains a high-priority sector for Canada’s immigration programs. Of the 96,342 ITAs issued across 49 Express Entry draws so far in 2024, 10,250 have been specifically targeted toward healthcare professionals. This targeted approach highlights Canada’s commitment to recruiting skilled healthcare workers to meet the increasing demands of its aging population and healthcare system.

IRCC’s healthcare-targeted draws continue to attract internationally trained professionals, such as nurses, physicians, and other healthcare specialists, ensuring the country’s healthcare workforce remains robust and capable of addressing its growing needs.
