MANITOBA ANNOUNCES WORK PERMIT EXTENSION PROGRAM FOR PROVINCIAL NOMINEE CANDIDATES
The Government of Manitoba has unveiled a new temporary public policy designed to support candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) who are facing expiring work permits.
Effective April 22, 2025, eligible applicants will be able to apply for a two-year work permit extension, providing much-needed stability and continuity for those already contributing to Manitoba’s economy.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify, applicants must:
Have a work permit that expired in 2024/2025 or will expire within 45 days of applying
Have maintained an active MPNP Expression of Interest profile since January 15, 2025
Prove continuous residence in Manitoba
Hold ongoing employment with a Manitoba-based employer
Submit a valid letter of employment from their employer
