CANADA'S 2025 PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM: NO NEW APPLICATIONS THIS YEAR
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has confirmed that the 2025 Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) will not accept new applications this year. Instead, the program will only process applications from the existing 2020 pool, with a target of 10,000 complete applications.
For most of Canada, the processing time remains 24 months. However, those applying to settle in Quebec face a longer wait of up to 48 months due to the province’s limited admission targets. This decision aligns with Canada’s reduced immigration targets under the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan.
Despite these restrictions, the Super Visa remains a viable alternative, allowing parents and grandparents to visit Canada for up to 5 years at a time, with multiple entries over a 10-year period.
