OTTAWA INVITED 5,000 CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS CANDIDATES UNDER EXPRESS ENTRY
On July 31, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. IRCC issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates in the CEC-targeted draw. In round #307, the cut-off score was 510 points, 5 points fewer than the previous draw for CEC candidates. The tie-breaking rule for this round was June 30, 2024, at 20:39:14 UTC. As of July 31, 2024, 210,521 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. In 2024, Canada has already issued 68,579 invitations through 29 Express Entry draws.
The Canadian Experience Class is specifically designed for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. The reduced cut-off score in this draw indicates a slightly easier path for candidates to receive ITAs, reflecting Canada’s ongoing efforts to attract and retain skilled talent to support its economy and labor market needs. With 5,000 candidates invited in this round, it demonstrates Canada's commitment to welcoming experienced professionals who have already contributed to the Canadian workforce.
The tie-breaking rule used in this draw means that in cases where multiple candidates have the same Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, those who submitted their profiles earlier are given priority. This system ensures a fair and transparent process, providing all candidates with an equal opportunity based on their profile submission date.
The high number of invitations issued and the substantial number of profiles in the Express Entry pool illustrate the popularity and competitiveness of Canada's immigration programs. With a total of 68,579 invitations issued through 29 draws so far in 2024, the Express Entry system continues to be a primary pathway for skilled workers to achieve their goal of becoming Canadian permanent residents.
