NEW BRUNSWICK PAUSES IMMIGRATION PROGRAMS DUE TO HIGH DEMAND
In response to an overwhelming demand for its immigration programs, the New Brunswick government has announced a temporary pause in several key immigration streams for the remainder of 2024. Effective November 15, 2024, the issuance of new nomination certificates under the New Brunswick Private Career College Graduate Pilot has been suspended. This pilot program, which supports international graduates of private career colleges in New Brunswick, has reached its full allocation for the year, prompting the pause.
Similarly, the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), which has become an increasingly popular pathway for skilled workers and international graduates in the Atlantic provinces, has halted the acceptance of new Employer Expressions of Interest and endorsement applications. This decision comes as the program has also reached its 2024 capacity.
Despite these pauses, the New Brunswick government has reassured applicants that previously submitted applications will continue to be processed as usual. The government has emphasized that those who have already submitted their applications will not be affected by the suspension and should expect to receive updates in due course.
Applicants are advised to regularly monitor the official New Brunswick immigration website for further updates on the status of these programs and to stay informed about any new opportunities that may arise in the future.
These changes reflect the high demand for immigration opportunities in New Brunswick and highlight the province’s strong commitment to attracting skilled workers to address its labor market needs.
