MANITOBA ISSUED 620 INVITATIONS THROUGH THE MPNP

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) continues to open its doors to talented individuals from around the world, and the recent invitation round held on September 21, 2023, brought promising news for immigration hopefuls. In this round, MPNP issued invitations to a total of 620 candidates, further solidifying Manitoba's reputation as a welcoming province for newcomers.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) Stream

In round #194 of the MPNP, a key highlight was the occupation-specific candidate selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream. A total of 298 applicants were invited to apply for provincial nomination. These individuals demonstrated their qualifications by scoring 612 points and above in the selection process. This pathway is designed for individuals who are already working in Manitoba and wish to transition to permanent residency.

Regular SWM Draw

In addition to the occupation-specific selection, MPNP also issued 239 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in the regular SWM draw. What's noteworthy is that the minimum score required for an LAA in this category was 631 points, which is nine points fewer than the previous draw. This decrease in the minimum score reflects Manitoba's ongoing commitment to attracting skilled workers to address labor market needs.

Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) Stream

The Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream is designed for individuals with strong connections to Manitoba, even if they are not currently residing in the province. In this round, MPNP issued 27 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 723 points, a decrease of one point compared to the previous draw. This initiative underscores Manitoba's interest in candidates who can make a significant contribution to the province's economic growth.

International Education Stream

For international students who have completed their education in Manitoba and wish to continue their journey toward permanent residency, the International Education Stream remains a promising option. In the September 2023 round, MPNP issued 56 invitations under this stream. This demonstrates Manitoba's commitment to retaining and integrating international graduates into its workforce and communities.

Express Entry Candidates

Manitoba continues to select candidates from the federal Express Entry pool, allowing them to apply for provincial nomination through the MPNP. In this recent round, 59 Express Entry candidates received LAAs. Throughout 2023, MPNP has invited a total of 11,789 candidates, with 3,031 of them being Express Entry candidates. This pathway provides an expedited route to permanent residency for candidates who meet Manitoba's specific immigration criteria.

These recent developments underscore Manitoba's proactive approach to immigration, as the province seeks to attract skilled individuals who can contribute to its economy and community. The province's commitment to reducing minimum scores in certain categories demonstrates its flexibility in responding to evolving labor market needs.
