MANITOBA CONDUCTED A NEW MPNP DRAW
On May 2, 2024, Manitoba conducted its latest invitation round for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), showcasing its ongoing commitment to welcoming skilled workers and international graduates to the province. In round #217, MPNP extended invitations to 488 applicants under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream, highlighting the province's focus on attracting and retaining talented individuals who can contribute to Manitoba's economy and communities.
The Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream also saw activity, with 26 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Notably, the lowest score in the SWO category was 796 points, demonstrating the province's selectivity in choosing candidates who meet its specific labor market needs and priorities.
Furthermore, Manitoba issued 427 invitations in the International Education Stream, reflecting its recognition of the value and potential that international students bring to the province. In total, 941 candidates received LAAs in this round, including 181 Express Entry candidates, highlighting Manitoba's efforts to align its immigration strategies with federal programs like Express Entry.
Overall, in 2024, MPNP has invited 3,617 candidates, with 478 of them receiving invitations through Express Entry, indicating Manitoba's proactive approach to leveraging various pathways to attract skilled individuals who can contribute to the province's growth and development.
