Occupations-Specific Selection: Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream
In this round, MPNP prioritized the selection of candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream, issuing invitations to 92 applicants through an occupation-specific approach. Alongside this, an additional 100 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in the regular SWM draw. The minimum score for the LAA in this category rose to 809 points, reflecting the competitive nature of the selection process—a 24-point increase from the previous draw.
Skilled Workers Overseas Stream and International Education Stream
Under the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream, MPNP extended 48 LAAs to candidates invited through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Notably, the minimum score in the SWO category saw an uptick to 721 points, rising by 13 points compared to the prior draw. Additionally, Manitoba issued 61 invitations in the International Education Stream, emphasizing the province's dedication to attracting global talent from educational institutions.
Express Entry Candidates and Overall Invitations in 2023
Among the 301 candidates receiving LAAs in this round, 69 were Express Entry candidates—a testament to Manitoba's collaboration with the federal Express Entry system. In 2023 alone, MPNP has invited a total of 14,182 candidates, with 3,804 of them securing invitations through the Express Entry pathway.
Manitoba's Ongoing Commitment to Skilled Immigration
