IRCC ISSUED ONE THOUSAND INVITATIONS FOR FRANCOPHONE CANDIDATES UNDER EXPRESS ENTRY

On October 10, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw specifically targeting candidates with French language proficiency. This was round #318 of the Express Entry system, during which 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) were issued to francophone candidates.

The cut-off score for this draw was set at 444 points, marking a slight decrease of two points from the previous French language proficiency draw held on September 13, 2024. The tie-breaking rule for this round was set for September 27, 2024, at 18:56:32 UTC. This means that candidates who met the cut-off score and submitted their profiles before this time and date were prioritized for receiving an ITA.

As of October 9, 2024, the Express Entry pool contained 209,317 active profiles, reflecting the growing interest in Canada’s immigration programs. Notably, Canada has issued a total of 87,987 ITAs this year through the Express Entry system, with 21,400 of those invitations going to candidates who demonstrated French language proficiency.

This draw is part of Canada’s ongoing efforts to attract French-speaking immigrants, who play a crucial role in supporting the growth of francophone communities outside Quebec. With targeted draws such as this, Canada continues to facilitate pathways for skilled workers who can contribute to both the economy and the country's cultural diversity.
