CANADA CLOSED THE IEC AND INVITED THE LAST CANDIDATES FOR 2024

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has completed the final draws for the International Experience Canada (IEC) pools for 2024, inviting 3,847 young foreigners to apply for an open work permit in October. These invitations mark the last opportunity for participants in the 2024 season of the IEC program, which provides young people from around the world the chance to live and work in Canada.


As of October 21, an impressive 40,435 candidates remained registered in the IEC pool, eagerly awaiting their chance to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The final round of draws included invitations for a wide range of countries, reflecting the global appeal of the IEC program. Here’s a breakdown of the ITAs issued by country in the latest round:

Notably, smaller numbers of invitations were extended to several countries, showcasing the program's broad reach and inclusivity. Each ITA represents a young person’s opportunity to experience the rich cultural and professional landscape of Canada.


For the 2024 season, Canada issued a remarkable 122,972 ITAs through the IEC program, helping young professionals, students, and holidaymakers gain valuable work experience in Canada.


Looking Ahead to 2025

While the final draws for 2024 have now concluded, there is still hope for those who missed out. The 2025 IEC season is expected to begin in early January, with profile submissions starting as early as December 2024. Aspiring participants can soon start preparing their profiles to increase their chances of being selected for the next round of invitations.
