CANADA IS ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRIES TO BE A WOMAN
Studies, rankings, and surveys have shown that Canada is one of the best places in the world to be a woman.
Due to its reputation as a safe and democratic society, free basic education, free access to high-quality health care, laws that protect them from domestic violence, better job opportunities than their global counterparts, and a bounty of freedoms make Canada one of the most women-friendly G20 countries, according to a poll of 370 gender experts around the world conducted by TrustLaw. The rank was also determined by women's access to education, the equal division of labor in a household, and rights related to land, property, and inheritance.
The World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law index measures how women who work are on equal legal standing with men, measured on indicators including access to jobs and protections on gender discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace.
Canada is in one of the countries with a perfect score in this index among nations such as Belgium, Denmark, France, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, and Sweden. Canada was recognized for its strong record for gender equality and because the Canadian government recently improved parental leave rights: Women in Canada can take up to 12 months of maternity leave and receive 50 to 65% of their normal income.
According to the study ‘Best Countries for Women’ conducted by US News & World Report, Canada is one of the best countries for women based on factors such as care about human rights, gender equality, income equality, progress, and safety.
